HIGH DESERT WINDS
High Desert Winds is a community wind ensemble whose mission is to provide music education experiences through the rehearsal and performance of challenging wind band repertoire. Participation in High Desert Winds is by invitation for adult and student musicians who are accomplished in music performance and are capable of performing challenging music, motivated to expand their musical knowledge, committed to regular individual practice, and agree to the rehearsal and performance schedule.
Approximately 30% of the musicians in High Desert Winds are student musicians from the Santa Fe area. Of the adult musicians, 35% are teachers, most of whom are music educators.
